 In addition to our Hot Water Drilling Systems, we now offer a Propane Fired Steam Boiler mounted in a field transport/shipping box.
The weight of the boiler alone is ~100lbs.
A
drill rod and 50 feet of hose are included. Because the steam drill
requires only a small amount of water, snow may be melted in a suitable
container to feed the boiler via the side mounted hand pump.
Very
soon steam is available which can be used to melt more snow or ice for
the boiler and of course to drill a hole, melt out a frozen in place
instrument, etc.
 No electric power is needed. The photo shows the transport box and the steam drill set up for in field use.
On the left is propane fired tank. The white container contains feed water.
The hose and steam probes (resting at an angle against the side of the box) are shown.
The black handle with yellow tip is the pump handle.
